Almost every day in the news we read or hear of ISIS destroying another ancient temple or monastery or ancient landmark. We also read how evangelization in ISIS dominated countries is strictly forbidden under punishment of death. Conversion to Christianity is punishable by death. We also read of the horrors inflicted upon those who refuse to convert to the proper ISIS version of Islam. ISIS is even killing those who are Muslim, but not the ISIS version of Islam.
Also in the news, was a professor at a Christian college who stated that the god of ISIS was the same as the Christian God. If we carefully compare, you will find this is impossible. The god of ISIS is fearful of any challenge. That is why any church, monastery, religious artifact of any religion other than theirs must be destroyed. Evangelization within their countries is strictly forbidden. Conversion is treated with death. The god of ISIS is fearful of the God of Truth. He has already lost once and is destined to lose again.
First, the God of Christianity is a Triune God; that is, three Persons in one God. This is completely incompatible with the god of ISIS, in fact, they call it blasphemy. Jesus Christ said that He is the Son of God and speaks of the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity. How can Islam deny this, when the Quran clearly states that Jesus Christ was a prophet, and a prophet by definition is one who speaks the will of God. So, if they call Him a prophet when He says that He is the Son of God, that must be true, and if that is true so is the Trinity.
Second, the God of Truth or God of Christianity, nurtures His children, and is referred to as “Father”. He gave His children a free will so that they can freely accept or reject Him, for He realizes that love, honor and respect are worthless unless freely given. He invites His children to seek the truth, for He knows that their honest search will always lead them to Him. He provides them with a guide book that is written with His actions and not just words. He sent His Son, as promised, as an act of a Loving Father to further guide His children towards Him. The actions of His Son mirrored the Love of the Father. Even after we killed His Son, He continues to reach out to us as a Loving Father. He forgives us in our true sorrow and reconciles us to Himself. The God of Christianity seeks a personal relationship with each of His children, whereas the god of Islam is impersonal; he is a judge without mercy or compassion. He sanctions his followers to rape, murder, torture, and destroy, all to be done in his name.
Once in a dream, the Son of God told His apostle John, “… The Amen, the faithful and true witness, the source of God’s creation, says this: “I know your works; I know that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either cold or hot.So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.” (Revelation 3:14-16) Why would the Son of God choose a person who is against him (cold) over a person who is “lukewarm”? I believe that a person who is cold will defend his position and the Son of God, who is the Word of Truth, knows that the honest seeker of truth will come to know, love and serve Him, Who is the God of Truth. Strangely, it is the lukewarm, the apathetic, the one who stands for anything and thereby stands for nothing, that the Son of God finds revolting.
As for the god of ISIS, the god of fear, torture and death, all Christians know him, but by a different name.
